Trong khi đó Ferdinand tự tin cho rằng anh vẫn sẽ là thủ quân ở đội tuyển. "Tôi nghĩ Capello đã nói về điều này cách đây không lâu. Tôi nhớ là ông ấy nói tôi vẫn là đội trưởng trong lần gần đây nhất toàn đội tập trung cùng nhau".
